First Semester, Indika Swings to US$12 Million Profit from Losses Year Ago


PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY) in the first semester of 2021 posted a profit for the period attributable to owners of the parent entity of US$12.006 million from the same period last year, a loss of US$21.91 million.

In the financial report published on Monday (2/8), an increase in the net profit share of associates by around 25.48% to US$16.67 million from US$13.28 million supported the improvement in the company's profit.

Indika also reported an unrealized gain on derivative financial instruments worth US$4.08 million in the first half of this year from a loss in the same period last year of US$16.15 million.

Operating revenues also increased by around 14.09% to US$1.28 billion from US$1.12 billion.

However, the cost of contracts and sales increased by about 4.10% to US$993.87 million from US$954.64 million.

The company's financial expenses also increased by 15.92%, or from US$47.62 million to US$55.20 million.
