BI: Financial Stability Maintained Amid Covid-19 Pandemic in 2020


Bank Indonesia stated that throughout 2020 the stability of Indonesia's financial system could be maintained amidst the pressure of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Maintained resilience of the financial sector as a result of synergy between the government, Bank Indonesia and related authorities in carrying out joint responsibility in the financial sector," said the Financial Stability Review Book No. 36, published Friday (30/4).

Various policy synergies with extraordinary measures related to the National Economic Recovery (NER) have been taken to overcome the adverse effects of the pandemic on the economy and financial system.

The policy response was able to better support the domestic economy in semester II 2020 compared to semester I 2020, with maintained macroeconomic and financial system stability.
