BPS: Inflation Rises 0.12% in October


Jakarta – The Central Statistics Agency BPS reported the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in October 2021 experienced inflation of 0.12% month on month (MoM) or an increase from 106.63 to 106.66.

Meanwhile, the annual inflation reached 1.66% year-on-year (YoY), and the calendar year was 0.90%.

"Of the 92 cities monitored, 68 cities and 22 cities experienced deflation. Of the 68 cities, the highest inflation was at up to 2.06%, the lowest was in Sumenep at 0.02% and the highest deflation was in Kendari and the lowest was in Bengkulu," said Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Margo Yuwono in Jakarta on Monday (1/11).

According to Margo, inflation was 0.12% higher compared to October 2020 because it was at 0.07% at that time.

Meanwhile, the annual inflation was 1.66% higher than last year and was the annual inflation in May 2021, at 1.68% during Eid momentum.
