First Session, JCI Falls 0.21% to 6,277


The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) at the end of the first session today, Friday (5/3), fell 13.40 points or 0.21% to 6,277.40.

Eight sectoral indices fell this afternoon. Only two sectors were still firm, the financial sector, which rose 0.52%, and the trade and services sector, which rose 0.25%.

The mining sector was down 2.11%, and the infrastructure sector declined 1.17%. The miscellaneous industry sector decreased 0.97%, the plantation sector fell by a rate of 0.68%, the manufacturing sector slipped by 0.56%, the consumer goods sector was eroded by 0.55%, and the construction and property sector was down 0.48%, the basic industrial sector weakened 0.40%.

One hundred eighty stocks were up, 289 stocks down, 137 stocks were unchanged. The total volume of transactions reached 18.78 billion shares with a market turnover of Rp11.26 trillion.

Meanwhile, the stocks that included the LQ45 top gainers were PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JPFA)  which rose 6.07%, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), gained 2.53%, PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk (CPIN) was up 1.59%.

Meanwhile, the stocks among the LQ45 top losers were PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO) which fell 6.79%, PT Bank BTPN Syariah Tbk (BTPS) was down 5.10%, PT Semen Indonesia Tbk (SMGR) decreased 3.79%.

Foreign investors sucked out Rp834.22 billion from all markets. The stocks with the largest foreign net sales were PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) with Rp746.7 billion, PT Surya Esa Perkasa Tbk (ESSA) Rp48.5 billion, and PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk (ICBP) Rp47.9 billion.

The stocks with the largest foreign net purchases were PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) Rp119.7 billion, PT Indah Kiat Pulp, and Paper Tbk (INKP) Rp.17.1 billion, and PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM) Rp12.2 billion.
