Jakarta - PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk has postponed the payment of coupons for the periodic distribution due in December 2021 for sukuk amounting to US$500 million.

"The postponement of the payment of the sukuk coupon was carried out with careful consideration of Garuda's business continuity in the midst of the pandemic situation and its impact on the aviation industry, which has not yet recovered," said Garuda Director of Finance and Risk Management Prasetio in information disclosure on Monday (6/12).

He explained that the postponement of the payment of the sukuk coupon for the current period of 2021 is a step that the company can take for now to ensure that it can well maintain business continuity in the future.

"This is at the same time ensuring the company's commitment to settlement of business obligations through the focus on accelerating restructuring steps that are currently running can be carried out properly," he said.
