Global Positive Sentiment Support JCI Higher


Jakarta - Global positive sentiment supported the strengthening of the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) on Thursday (21/10), trading by 14.28 points.

"We expect the JCI to move higher today, in line with positive sentiment from global and regional exchanges," analyst of PT Samuel Sekuritas Research said in a research note in Jakarta.

The analyst added that data that may be of concern to the market this week is the release of US initial jobless claims and US trade balance data for the month of October.

Meanwhile, at the opening of trading this Thursday, the JCI rose 14.28 points (0.21%) to 6,670.77. Meanwhile, the leading stock index LQ45 climbed 3.79 points (0.39%) to 978.95.

On the global front, most US stock markets rose again overnight, with the S&P rose 0.84%. The Nasdaq rose 2.11%, while the Dow Jones index fell 0.10%.
