Indika Energy Joins Patimban Consortium


PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY), through its subsidiary PT Indika Logistics and Support Services (ILSS), has officially become part of the consortium managing the port of Patimban, West Java.

Indika Energy's corporate secretary Adi Pramono said the company, through its subsidiary, has signed a Public-Private Partnership Agreement (PPP) between the Director-General of Sea Transportation and PT Pelabuhan Patimban Internasional (PPI) on March 17, 2021.

"PPI is a joint consortium between PT CT Corp Infrastruktur Indonesia, PT Indika Logistic & Support Services (ILSS), as a controlled subsidiary of the Company, PT U Connectivity Services, and PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya, as a consortium for the implementation of the Procurement Results for Patimban Port PPP Project Implementing Corporation. in West Java on December 29, 2020, "he said in Jakarta, Thursday (25/3).

According to Adi, after this PPP agreement becomes effective, PPI officially becomes the operator that will manage the Patimban port and is expected to provide excellent service and drive the port as efficiently as possible to contribute significantly to reducing national logistics costs.

"Meanwhile, ILSS participation as a member of the Patimban consortium is one of the diversification strategies undertaken by the group of companies and, in particular, to improve company performance," he explained.

The Patimban port was built to enlarge the export market and reduce existing traffic at Tanjung Priok Port.

The port development is expected to reduce logistics costs in DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten to Central Java.
