JCI Closes Down 0.53% at 6,324 Today


At the end of trading today, the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), on Monday (15/3), closed down 33.95 points or 0.53% at 6,324.26.

Of all stock traded, 253 stocks rose, 233 stocks fell, and 153 stocks were unchanged. The total volume of transactions reached 21.56 billion shares with a market turnover of Rp11.17 trillion.

Seven sectoral indices fell along with the JCI. The basic industrial sector was down 1.25%, and the infrastructure sector fell 1.05%. The financial sector declined 0.83%, the mining sector slipped 0.76%, the construction and property sector corrected 0.54%, the manufacturing sector was down 0.53%, the consumer goods sector decreased 0.42%.

Only three sectors strengthened today. The plantation sector rose 1.01%, the trade and services sector gained 1.01%, the miscellaneous industry sector was up 0.99%.

Meanwhile, the stocks included in the top gainers in the LQ45 were PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI), which was up 2.85%. PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG) rose 2.38%, PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA) increased 2.13%.

Meanwhile, the stocks among the LQ45 top losers included PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM) which was down 4.18%, PT Bank BTPN Syariah Tbk (BTPS) fell 3.86%, PT Sarana Menara Nusantara Tbk (TOWR) declined 3.63%.

Foreign investors sucked out Rp160.24 billion from all markets. The stocks with the largest foreign net sales were PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) worth Rp126.6 billion, PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) Rp55.5 billion, and PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM) Rp28.1 billion.

The stocks with the largest net-buy by foreigners were PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO) worth Rp54.6 billion, PT Digital Mediatama Maxima Tbk (DMMX) Rp47 billion, and PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF) Rp39.1 billion.
