JCI Closes Down 1.54% at 6,156


The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) at the end of trading today, on Wednesday (24/3), fell 96.57 points or 1.54% to 6,156.14.

One hundred ten stocks closed higher, 390 stocks ended falling, and 125 stocks were unchanged. The total volume of stock trading reached 17.35 billion shares with a total turnover of Rp11.11 trillion.

The entire compact stock sector fell. The sectors with the deepest weakness were the mining sector, which fell 3.17%, the plantation sector fell 2.36%, and the miscellaneous industry sector fell 1.92%.

Meanwhile, the stocks that entered the top gainers in LQ45 were PT Bank BTPN Syariah Tbk (BTPS) rose 2.81%, PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk (ERAA) gained 1.56%, PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SMGR) was up 1.32%.

Meanwhile, the LQ45 top losers' stocks were PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM) which fell 6.06%, PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO) slipped 5.77%, PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk. (ITMG) declined 4.55%.

Foreign investors recorded a net purchase of Rp23.72 billion in all markets.

The stocks with the largest foreign net purchases were PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) amounted to Rp116.8 billion, PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) Rp100.8 billion, and PT Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper Tbk (INKP) Rp59.8 billion.

For stocks with the largest foreign net sales were PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) with Rp275 billion, PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI) Rp63 billion, and PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) Rp53.5 billion.
