JCI Rises, Tracking Global Markets


Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) at the opening of trading Tuesday (9/11) was up 7.92 points in line with positive regional and global sentiment.

"We estimate the JCI will strengthen today, in line with the positive movement of regional and global markets," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, at the opening of trading on Tuesday, the JCI opened up 7.92 points (0.12%) to 6,640.22. While the leading stock index, LQ45, rose 1.77 points (0.19%) to 952.34.

On the global front, in overnight trading, the US market rose with the Dow Jones index rising 0.29%, the S&P 500 gaining 0.07%, the Nasdaq rising 0.09%.

The market responded positively to the US Senate's decision to pass a bipartisan infrastructure budget of US$1 trillion.

This week, market participants are expected to wait for consumer price inflation (CPI) release.
