JCI Seen to Move in Consolidation Range
Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) earlier this week on Monday (4/10) is expected to maintain a higher consolidation range.
Research by NH Korindo Sekuritas Indonesia said that the US stock market started October (01/10) in the green zone, with significant increases in the three main indexes.
"The market is getting positive sentiment from the news of an experimental COVID-19 drug made by Merck & Co which can reduce the death rate and hospitalization by up to 50 percent," said NH Korindo.
Meanwhile, domestically, despite correction at the end of last week, the JCI could still record a weekly gain of 1.37%. Again, the energy sector was the main driver with an increase of 17.76%, as the sentiment from the energy crisis in China lifted commodity prices.
"Entering the new week, the JCI will try to maintain a higher consolidation range above the 6,200 level," he explained.
