JCI Weakens, Tracking Fall in Global Markets


Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) at the opening of trading on Thursday (28/10) opened with a correction of 23.63 points as the global stock market weakened.

"With global and regional stock exchange sentiment, we estimate the JCI has the potential to move lower today," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

As for the opening of trading this Thursday, the JCI corrected 23.63 points (0.36%) to 6,578.58. Meanwhile, the leading stock index LQ45 weakened 5.51 points (0.58%) to 951.31.

The US stock market closed down overnight for global conditions, including the Dow Jones Index, which fell 0.7%, and the S&P500 fell 0.5%.

The decline in the US stock market occurred in line with the weak estimate of the US gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate, whose data will be released tonight.
