Jakarta - PT Bentoel Internasional Investama Tbk (RMBA) managed to achieve a profit for the year attributable to owners of Rp4.298 billion during the first quarter of 2022, from a loss in the previous year of Rp20.279 billion.

In the financial report released Monday (5/9), Bentoel's ability to profit was boosted by the low cost of goods sold by around 24.64%, to Rp1.483 trillion from Rp1.968 trillion.

In addition, selling expenses shrank by about two times, to Rp66.504 billion from Rp129.069 billion. The company also scored other profits many times over, or about ten times, to Rp79.489 billion from Rp7.417 billion.

However, sales shrank by around 18.04%, to Rp1,826 trillion from Rp2,228 trillion.

Other operating expenses also jumped by around 1.233% to Rp244,628 billion from Rp18,348 billion.

As of the first quarter of this year, Bentoel's total assets reached Rp9.051 trillion, with liabilities of Rp3.236 trillion and equity
