Bank Mandiri Sees Economic to Improve in Second Quarter

Bank Mandiri Group believes that Indonesia's economic growth has shown an improving trend entering the second quarter of this year.

This improvement is reflected in the level of public confidence that begins to recover in March-April 2021. people's confidence is influenced by several factors, including the decline in the number of daily COVID-19 cases and the development of the vaccination process.

Director of Treasury and International Banking of Bank Mandiri Panji Irawan said the consumer confidence index in April 2021 for the first time in the past year shows that consumer expectations of economic conditions are already optimistic.

"This has also triggered an increase in consumer spending, especially in the period leading up to the 2021 Lebaran holiday celebrations," he said in Jakarta on Wednesday (19/5).
