PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk posted a profit for the year attributable to the parent company owners throughout 2020, amounting to Rp501.05 billion or a 97.72% drop compared to the previous year reaching Rp2.207 trillion.

"The Covid-19 pandemic has also had an impact on the company's business and also increases in interest expenses along with the operation of new toll roads," said Jasa Marga's Corporate Secretary, Agus Setiawan, in a press release on Tuesday (30/3).

He added that the company could still maintain a stable EFI margin until the end of 2020, 62.42%, and EBITDA reached Rp5.98 trillion. The support is to make various efficiencies to offset the decrease in traffic volume and toll revenue as a result of the implementation of the work from home policy and large-scale social restrictions.

"Working from home and PSBB in various regions in the second and third quarters of 2020 caused a decrease in Jasa Marga toll revenues to Rp8.76 trillion," he added.

Thus, the company's operating income dropped around 13.50% to Rp8,762 trillion from Rp10,130 trillion.

However, along with several new toll roads' operation last year, Jasa Marga's total assets grew 4.4% to Rp104.08 trillion from Rp99.697 trillion the previous year.

Until the end of 2020, Jasa Marga toll road concessions spread throughout Indonesia reached 1,603 Km, including 1,191 Km toll roads operating at the end of last year.
