Jakarta - PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) plans to take over the new shares issued by PT Andalan Investama Bersama (ABI) for Rp1.14 trillion or equivalent to US$80.16 million.

Based on information disclosure on Friday (31/12), the acquisition of the new shares gave the company a 50.1% share ownership.

If the transaction is realized, the company can develop its business activities in the mining sector. It will develop the potential of the mining business license owned by PT Puncak Emas Tani Sejahtera with a GSM contract of work and increase the company's profit and financial performance in the future.

ABI needs this transaction to take strategic steps to incorporate actions that ABI will carry out in the future, especially in connection with the takeover of PT Gorontalo Sejahtera Mining (GSM) by ABI.

The company carried out the GSM takeover on December 29, 2021.
