Pupuk Indonesia Net Profit 104% Above Target in First Quarter

PT Pupuk Indonesia, in the first quarter of 2021, posted a net profit of Rp929 billion or 104% of the company budget plan target.

Indonesia's Fertilizer Finance and Investment Director, Eko Taufik Wibowo, said that the profit achievement was driven by an increase in the efficiency of operating expenses and financial costs, including efficiency in the consumption of gas raw materials, as well as increased sales of non-fertilizer products and non-commercial fertilizer products.

The reduction in operating expenses was supported by efficiency measures undertaken by the company, particularly in terms of management of accounts receivable, lowering interest expenses, and efficiency in various fields, including supply chain efficiency.

"One of them is through a warehouse repositioning program to reduce distribution costs," he said in a press release on Friday (7/5).

Until March 2021, Pupuk Indonesia recorded a sales volume of 3.3 million
