Pilar Sinergi to Cut Share in Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train Project

PT Pilar Sinergi BUMN Indonesia (PSBI) plans to reduce the Jakarta-Bandung fast train project's share ownership portion. Currently, PBSI controls 60%.

"We are negotiating with the Chinese side so that Indonesia's portion can be smaller than 60% so that the overall cost of run that occurs will not affect what we have previously deposited," said the President Director of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) Agung Budi Waskito in a press conference, Wednesday (14/4).

He explained that the members of PBSI are Wijaya Karya with a 38% ownership portion, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) 25%, PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII 25%, and PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk 12%.

"So indeed in the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train project there will certainly be a cost of the run which is currently being calculated by friends of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China. What is the amount, yes, of course, we will wait, but what I have heard is around 20%," he explained.

Therefore, he hopes that the share ownership portion in Indonesia will be smaller so that the Chinese government can bear the cost of the run. "That's what we are working on," he said.

As is known, a consortium of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) is working on the Jakarta-Bandung fast train project. This entity is a combination of PBSI with 60% ownership and Beijing Yawan HSR Co. Ltd. as much as 40%.
