Positive Sentiment from Global Drives JCI to Strengthen


Jakarta - The positive global sentiment was the driving force for the strengthening Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) at the opening of trading on Tuesday (19/10) by 6.95 points.

"The JCI will move higher today, in line with positive sentiment from global and regional exchanges," said PT Samuel Sekuritas Research in Jakarta.

In addition, data that may be of concern to the market this week is the release of data on initial jobless claims and the US trade balance for the month of October.

The JCI at the opening of trading on Tuesday rose 6.95 points (0.1%) to 6,665.72. Meanwhile, the leading stock index LQ45 rose 2.42 points (0.25%) to 978.86.

On the global markets, the majority of US stock markets rose again overnight, with the S&P rose 0.84%, the Nasdaq rose 2.11%, while the Dow Jones fell 0.10%.
