Brief of Company Background
The company owns and manages a 439 room hotel on a 3.3 Ha site in Jalan Sudirman, Jakarta. The company expanded its operation by constructing the Sahid Jaya Tower, an additional hotel of 312 rooms adjacent to the existing property. The US$ 40 million loan granted by 14 Singapore based financial institution to the hotel was used towards the construction of Menara Sahid a 38 story building project. From 50% in 1998, room occupancy declined to only approximately 20% in 1998. The lowest occupancy was in June 1998, in the aftermath of the May riots.
