Brief of Company Background
PT BBL Dharmala Finance Tbk. was incorporated on June 7, 1982 as a leasing company with a joint venture between PT Dharmala Sakti Sejahtera Tbk of Indonesia dan Bangkok Bank Pcl of Thailand. Since 1982 until 2005, there are several changes of company name and its shareholders. On February 2005, PT Sari Dasa Karsa (SDK) which owns 42,53% of PT Bank Buana Indonesia Tbk. purchased 270 million BBLD shares that made SDK as majority shareholder with percentage of ownership equals to 64,09%. On 3 October 2005, Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting had approved our company name: PT Buana Finance Tbk. (formerly was PT Bina Danatama Finance Tbk.). The Company booked net profit worth IDR92.360 billion in 2005, down around 49.52% from IDR182.960 billion.The net profit was down because the company had to pay corporate income tax which reached IDR33.342 billion in 2005 while in 2004 the company booked a tax benefit worth IDR19.171 billion.
