Brief of Company Background
In 1988, a machine was installed for producing medium voltage cable. In 1990 the company succeeded in making its own twisting machine in order to overcome a bottleneck in production, and in 1990-1991 a foam-skin extruder, quad ding machine, drum twister and large extruder machine were added to the production line. In 1994 the company installed capacity is 26,000 ton of power cables and 1,330,000 kilometer pair of telephone cables per annum. Almost all raw materials, such as polyethylene, cross link polyethylene and heat shrinkable material tubes are imported. In June 1995 the company raised US$ 40 million revolving credit, arranged by the Chase Investment Bank (Singapore) Ltd. In the same month the company has offered 28 million shares in a right issue at 1:1 with a price of Rp 1,000 per share. 62% of the fund raised will be used to buy a machine, 17% to finance building construction, 13% to increase working capital, and the rest to finance other facilities.
