Garuda Net Losses Swell 67.79% to US$4.148 Billion in 1st Quarter


Jakarta - PT Garuda Indonesia  Tbk recorded an increase in losses attributable to owners throughout 2021 by around 67.79% to US$4.148 billion, compared to the previous year of only US$2.472 billion.

In the company's financial report released on Wednesday (13/7), the swelling of Garuda's losses was triggered by the lower operating income of around 10.45% to US$1.336 billion from US$1.492 billion.

In addition, other operating expenses also increased almost eight times or to US$2.689 billion, from the previous US$391.564 million. As a result, operating losses swelled by about 79.84% to US$3.962 billion from US$2.203 billion.

Nevertheless, Garuda reduced its operating expenses by around 21.01% or from US$3.303 billion to US$2.609 billion.

In 2021, Garuda's total assets reached US$7.192 billion, with liabilities of around US$13.302 billion and equity minus US$6.110 billion.
