First Semester, Kereta Api Narrows Losses to Rp454.47 Billion


PT Kereta Api Indonesia managed to reduce the current year's loss rate attributable to owners of the parent entity in the first semester of 2021 by around 65.90% to Rp454.47 billion from the same period the previous year of Rp1.33 trillion.

In the financial report released on Monday (2/8), KAI's ability to reduce losses was supported by a decrease in the cost of revenue by around 7.85% or from Rp7.02 trillion to Rp6.47 trillion.

KAI's financial income also more than tripled to Rp134.09 billion from the previous Rp48.46 billion.

In addition, KAI earned a foreign exchange gain of Rp20.53 billion from the previous recorded foreign exchange loss of around Rp1.70 billion.

Meanwhile, income was stagnant at the level of  Rp7.46 trillion throughout the first semester of 2021.

Meanwhile, until the first semester of 2021, the company's total assets reached Rp54.05 trillion, with cash and cash equivalents at the end of Rp4.
