PT Sarana Menara Nusantara Tbk (TOWR) is seeking to acquire telecommunication towers this year.

The company belonging to the Djarum Group also seeks the opportunity to auction towers in the market, including the sale of 4,000 towers of PT Indosat Ooredoo Tbk (ISAT).

Deputy Director of Sarana Menara Nusantara, Adam Ghifari, said two factors make the acquisition strategy profitable. First, building a new tower is either time-consuming or not as effective as buying an existing tower. Meanwhile, the number of towers that can be acquired is currently limited.

"The company has a plan to develop capital in the next few months. We have heard that there is a tower auction in the market, so it will be a good thing if we can participate," Adam said in Jakarta, Friday (12/3).

Without acquisitions or an organic strategy, the company targets to build 5,000-1,000 towers per year. The company also aims for revenue to increase by 8% in 2021.

"We are optimistic that we can lead the market in the midst of intense industrial competition," said Adam.
