Selective Buyings Support JCI


Jakarta - The selective buying action carried out by market participants supported the strengthening of the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) by 15.94 points at the opening of trading Monday (18/10).

"We estimate the JCI will move sideways today, along with the emergence of different sentiments from global and regional exchanges. In addition to the data from the US mentioned earlier, other data that is likely to attract the attention of market players is GDP data and China's retail sales which will released this week," said PT Samuel Sekuitas Research in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, at the opening of trading on Monday, the JCI rose 15.94 points (0.24%) to 6,649.28. At the same time, the leading stock index LQ45 rose 4.41 points (0.45%) to 976.61.

On the overseas markets, at the close of last weekend (15/10), the US market moved higher with the Dow Jones index rose 1.09%, the S&P 500 rose 0.75%, and the Nasdaq rose 0.50%.
