Coal Export Ban Policy to Affect Adaro Energy Group

Jakarta - PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO) Group stated that the policy of the export ban from January 1-31, 2022, and the obligation to supply all of its coal production to meet the electricity needs to PT PLN and Independent Power Producer (IPP) would affect the group.

Letter B-1605, however, also states that the ban on coal sales abroad will be evaluated and reviewed based on the realization of coal supply for PLTU Group PT PLN and IPP.

According to Adaro Corporate Secretary Mahardika Putranto, currently, its subsidiaries, PT Adaro Indonesia, Balangan Coal Companies (PT Semesta Centramas, PT Laskar Semesta Alam, and PT Paramitha Cipta Sarana), PT Mustika Permai, and PT Maruwai Coal as permit holders are also affected on the prohibition.

"Currently, we are preparing the necessary steps in responding to this situation, both on government policies and on existing engagements with other related parties," said Mahardika through information disclosure
