Government Targets Inflation to Slow to 2.5% in 2021


The government has set a sloping inflation target for the 2022-2024 period, from 3% to 2.5%, with a deviation of 1%.

Meanwhile, in 2022-2023, inflation is set at 3%, while in 2024, it will be at 2.5%.

This is revealed in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 101/PMK.010/21 concerning Inflation Targets 2022, 2023, 2024, article 2 paragraph 3.

Still, in article 2 in paragraph 1, it is written that the type of inflation target that is set and announced is the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation at the end of the year.

Article 2 paragraph 2 states that the inflation target is set as a point with tolerance.

Sri Mulyani signed this regulation on July 28, 2021. This PMK was issued as a follow-up to the government coordination meeting with Bank Indonesia some time ago.
