Antam Sees Ferronickel, Nickel, Bauxite Ore to Grow in 2021
PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) sees positive growth in the primary commodities' production and sales of ferronickel, nickel ore, and bauxite ore this year.
Antam Corporate Secretary Kunto Hendrapawoko said in a press release on Monday (15/2).
For ferronickel, Antam targets a production and sales volume of 26,000 tons of nickel in ferronickel (TNi) or relatively stable compared to last year's 25,970 TNi and 26,163 TNi, respectively. This production target is in line with Pomalaa's ferronickel production optimization in Southeast Sulawesi.
For nickel ore, Antam projects a total production of 8.44 million wet metric tons (wmt), an increase of 7% compared to last year's achievement of around 4.76 million wmt. The increase in nickel ore production will be used as raw material for Antam's ferronickel plant and support domestic customers' sales.
Meanwhile, Antam projects total nickel ore sales this year to be around 6.71 million wmt or a 104% growth from last year's 3.30 million wmt.
As for the gold commodity, Antam predicts production could reach 1.37 tons of gold from the Pongkor and Cibaliung gold mines, with gold sales reaching 18 tons of gold. This year, Antam focuses on developing a customer base for precious metals in the domestic market.
As for bauxite ore, production is targeted at around 3 million wmt this year, or growing 93% compared to last year's production realization of only 1.55 million wmt. Antam estimates sales of bauxite ore at 2.73 million wmt, or a 122% growth from previous year's wrapped around 1.23 million wmt.
