KAI Suffers Rp303.47 Billion Loss in First Quarter 2021


PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) in the first quarter of 2021 suffered a loss for the current year attributable to the owners of the parent company amounting to Rp303.47 billion, compared to the same period the previous year, which managed to score a profit of Rp281.94 billion.

Based on KAI's financial report published on Monday (3/5), the loss was triggered by the low income of around 34.98%, from Rp5.3 trillion to Rp3.44 trillion.

In addition, KAI must receive a lower share of the net profit of associated companies and joint ventures by more than nine times or from Rp1.83 billion to Rp.238.47 million. Profits from foreign exchange differences also decreased by around 79.98% from Rp129.47 billion to only Rp25.91 billion.

KAI also had to accept other benefits that were more than double or from Rp109.02 billion to Rp44.03 billion.
