PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO) in the first semester of 2021 recorded coal sales volume of 25.78 million tons, down 5% compared to the same period the previous year.

The decrease in sales volume was in line with the decline in coal production realization in the first semester of 2021 by 3% to 26.49 million tons.

"In the first semester, Indonesia is the largest sales destination, which includes 28% of Adaro Energy's coal sales," ADRO Corporate Secretary Mahardika Putranto said in his presentation on Friday (6/8).

He added that the Southeast Asian market covered 22% of coal sales in the first half of 2021, with Malaysia being the largest.

The portion of sales to China rose to 20%, in line with the country's increasing demand for the company's thermal coal and metallurgical products.
