Bakrie Sumatera Plantation Net Loss Shrinks 83% in 2020


PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk (UNSP) managed to reduce the net loss attributable to owners of the parent entity throughout 2020 by around 82.76% or from Rp4.45 trillion to Rp768.3 billion.

Based on UNSP's financial report published on Wednesday (16/6), the improvement in net loss for the year was supported by UNSP's ability to gain from changes in the fair value of biological assets of Rp8.21 billion from the previous loss of Rp103.84 billion.

In addition, net sales also jumped 26.31% to Rp2.50 trillion for the period ending December 31, 2020, from the previous year's Rp1.98 trillion.

However, the cost of goods sold increased by around 13.52%, from Rp1.85 trillion to Rp2.10 trillion.

The company also had to accept a foreign exchange loss of Rp190.64 billion from the previous year, a gain of Rp475.34 billion.
