Jakarta - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk and seven bank creditors agreed to restructure debt with a value of Rp 21.9 trillion out of the total debt of Rp29 trillion through the Master Restructuring Agreement (MRA).

This amount represents 75% of Waskita's overall debt, which will be restructured.

"Waskita Karya is one of the SOEs that has contributed to infrastructure development and national economic growth. We really appreciate the coordination and cooperation that has been carried out by all parties involved in supporting the financial recovery and transformation of Waskita Karya," said Deputy Minister of SOE I, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, in a statement on Thursday (26/8).

He added that Waskita Karya's financial restructuring must also be followed by improving the company's fundamentals by carrying out business transformations oriented towards sustainable growth.
