Brief of Company Background
PT Gunawan Dianjaya Steel, Tandes, Surabaya, Indonesia (GDS) was established in 1989. It has installed a UNITED, U.S.A. made 4-high reversing Roughing & Finishing heavy plate rolling mill and produces hot rolled carbon steel plates, using imported steel slabs as the raw material. GDS is the largest hot rolled steel plate producer in private sector. The production capacity of GDS is 350.000 tonnes per annum.Commercial production commenced in October 1991, and since then GDS products are continously being supplied to the domestic market and also being exported to Europe, USA, Australia, Canada, Middle East, Asia, etc.GDS was awarded ISO 9001:2000, EN ISO 9001:2000 by Lloyd`s Register Quality Assurance Ltd. For Quality Management System Standrads, and ""U-Mark"" Certification in Germany by RWTUV for proper fabrication and testing on GDS steel plates.GDS is the only steel plate producer in Indonesia which has the maximum number of certifications from the 8 international ship registration bureaus for their shipbuilding qualities.
